There are a lot of fun flower pot crafts ideas to keep your little gardeners busy as a bee.

Find small plastic or wood flower pots at any garden center or craft store. Make sure the pot is a lighter color so it is easier to paint and decorate. Have the kids write their name on the bottom of the pot before starting. Set out different color paints and some brushes.
For a bright and colorful pot, have the kids paint the pot completely using one color of paint. Two coats of paint are best.

As the pots are drying, create "flowers" using tissue paper. Purchase different colors of tissue paper and cut out into square or circles. You can also use pinking shears for a fun edge. Knot or twist one end of a pipe cleaner into a ball. Take 7 or 8 pieces of any color tissue paper and push them one by one through the other end of the pipe cleaner (through the center of the paper) all the way up to the closed end. Once you have several pieces of tissue on the pipe cleaner, scrunch them with your fist over the closed end to resemble a flower. Repeat this several more times so you end up with a few flowers.

Another idea is to create tulips using sections of an egg carton. Just cut out the foam sections and cut the top of the section into v-shapes to look like a tulip. Have the kids paint their flowers. For the stems, use green pipe cleaner. Simply curl one end of the pipe cleaner and glue it to the bottom of the tulip.

Create fun critters such as ladybugs, caterpillars or bumble bees for inside of your pot. There are loads of fun bug craft ideas online. You can create lots of different kinds of bugs using Styrofoam balls, wiggly eyes, pipe cleaner and paints. For a more inexpensive craft, use pom poms. Glue together three different color pom poms and add wiggly eyes for a crazy caterpillar. You can also use a large red and a small black pom pom for a lovely ladybug.

After your pot is dry, paint a fun design such as flowers, butterflies or polka dots. Add green floral foam inside the pot and place the flowers into the foam. Add shredded green tissue paper at the base of the flowers.

These flower pot crafts make a great take home gift and unique party favor.Sources
